African Immigrant Ministry

The Mekane Yesus Lutheran Church - Sioux Falls is a community of many ethnicities, and Faith is particularly blessed to partner with Lutheran Christians from Ethiopia and Eritrea in Eastern Africa. The Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus ("Place of Jesus") has quickly become the largest Lutheran church body in the world with over eight million members. Many Mekane Yesus Lutheran-Christians are now making their home in communities like Sioux Falls.

Ethiopian families at Faith worship in the Amharic language. They gather for worship at 11:00a.m. on Sundays. 

Eritrean families at Faith worship in the Kunama language. They gather for worship at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays.This group also meets for Bible Study on Friday evenings.
